Divergent Youth

"We are passionate about empowering High School and JR High students in every aspect of their adolescent development. Rather than create programs to entertain young people, we create opportunities for each student to engage in the work of Jesus Christ personally. We believe in equipping our students’ creative power and spiritual potential directly into the life of the church and the community in which we reside. We want to see our students understand their calling to live with Jesus as their center, bond together in a biblical community, grow in their faith consistently, and reach their friends with the gospel message."

Weekly on Wednesdays

We meet weekly on Wednesday nights at Verge Church from 6:30-8:00 PM. Each week, students engage in building lifelong friendships as they gather as a student community. We never stop having fun as we compete and play games weekly. Giving students room to play, laugh, and have fun has always been a healthy outlet for their weekly routine. This all leads to a tie of worship and a message in the word to help our students learn more about their lives as disciples of Jesus.

Student Events

Events are not about an experience. It is about the community. We are intentional with designing events that will give our students the opportunity to engage in meaningful relationships. We are living in a time when the phone is so integrated into a student's life that it has affected the understanding of how to form deep friendships. Each event has the purpose of putting the phone down and having fun with the people you are with.

Retreats and Camps

Students are given opportunities to join a weekend winter retreat or week- long camp in the Summer. These getaways are valuable for the life of a student learning how to walk out their faith in Jesus. They are profoundly formative as they experience services and devotions away from their daily routines. It is a time when friendships and faith are deepened in the life of a student.

Experience Divergent Youth

Here is a look at a special annual event we host on consecutive Wednesdays in March to empower our students to invite their classmates and friends to have fun and hear about Jesus Christ. These special services are designed for students who have never attended church or do not go regularly. Our students love being engaged to live on “mission” in their everyday lives.
